Basic Embroidery #2

If you missed my first Basic Embroidery post you can find it HERE to learn a couple super basic stitches. This time I'm going to share how to transfer an image to fabric in a really simple way.
First find a picture you want to embroider. You might want a line drawing image to make it easier to trace. Zoom in or out of the image to the exact size you need it.
Put your piece of fabric over the screen. You might want to go in to a darker room to be able to see the image through the fabric clearly.
Use a wash off embroidery pen to trace the image. You can find them at Jo-Anns for $5.00.
And you're ready to embroider! You can also draw your own image on a piece of paper and either scan it in to your computer or use some kind of light behind it to trace it on the fabric.
I used stitch number 1 to do the whole thing. Use a wet rag to remove the blue ink and you're finished :) SO simple!

Birthday's

Just wanted to say a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my wonderful mother <3
And to my BIL David.
The day before yesterday we had a girls lunch for my mom at my grandmas house and then yesterday (for their actual Birthdays) we walked downtown to Rockslide Brewery for appetizers and then back to my parents to open my moms presents and then went bowling with Davids friends and afterwards took him to Old C's. I hope they had a wonderful day! I sure had fun!

This time of year there's lots and lots of Birthdays right after the other so it's a busy, but FUN time of the year.

Picture Time

My sister and I decided to take each others pictures the other day. We used a really cool forest area in front of my Grandparent house. It was bunches of fun.
...And I obviously decided to use some for my blog layout...

"Brenna Day"

A couple days ago my Grandmother-in-law treated me to a whole day of doing whatever I wanted. She called it "Brenna Day" We started off by going to breakfast at a super delicious local restaurant called Berna B's and I had Green Chili smothered goodness.
Then the guys left to play video games while all of us girls went shopping. She took me to 3 different places for clothes (I of course got most of them at Target) She bought me a whole new wardrobe and I love it! She is so amazing. I've never gotten so many clothes at one time. It was such a blessing! Especially because I left most of my clothes in TX. For lunch we met back up with Chase and Gabe at Olive Garden and I got some amazing Chicken and Dumpling soup.
There's just something about Chicken and Dumpling's!

Some of my Loot.

Later that day Rachel made me from scratch spaghetti (she even made the noodles!) and we watched Emma... The only Jane Austin movie I haven't seen.

GOOD. DAY.

Some people are so amazing. I hope one day I can be as unselfish as them.

Afternoon Tea

A couple days ago my mom, my sister, and I hosted a little tea party. My mom and cousin Rachel made all of the goodies and my sister provided the tea. It was nice to just sit, relax, visit, and sip tea. Tea parties are amazing and there needs to be more of them in this world :)

Lately

This is kinda late, but these are a few things that happened this crazy holiday season.

Jennifer's Birthday
For Jen's b-day she took us to Angelo's, which is a pottery place that lets you paint your own pottery and they fire it for you to pick up later.

My Birthday
My b-day is a whole day after Jen's and we had an ugly sweater, hot cocoa, vinyl party.

Kasandra came home
I only got to see her a couple times, but it was nice :) I love our super cheezy pic.

Chrisrmas
The best part about Christmas was of course family. But we had a ton of fun with all of the handmade presents and Chase's family spoiled us rotten!

Sushi/Sister Day
My sissy and I got a whole bunch of sushi and came home to eat it while we watched horror movies :) It might just have to become a regular tradition.

Amos' Birthday
My brother's b-day is on New Years Eve. (So many December Birthdays!!!) I made a giant cinnamon roll with the help of LaRae and we had a surprise party for breakfast at my grandparents.

I finished my Project 365.
I won't be doing it again this year, but I'm REALLY glad I did it. It was a lot of work to remember to take a picture every single day. (which actually didn't happen every single day...) But it's cool being able to see what I did or where I was almost every day this year. You can find the first half HERE and the second half HERE.

Getting our own place
I haven't really told anyone cause it was a super last minute decision for us, but we decided to stay home for a couple more months so that Chase can finish writing and recording his album. We got our own little place in the upstairs of a building downtown (Pics coming soon!). We are having lots of fun and Chase has been hard at work.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas season and make 2012 the best year ever!
