Loving What You Do

I read an article the other day that Jon Foreman (lead singer of Switchfoot) wrote and it really made me think about things.
I would encourage you to read it here:

I've always felt this way so it's very reassuring to me. I feel like people who really actually make a difference and who are remembered are people who DO what they love for a living instead of wishing they could.
I absolutely love sewing, even though I am such a freaking amateur at it. I usually have to re-do everything I make 5 times to get it right and I can get so frustrated that I want to cry. But in the  end it's one of my greatest passions along with creating new things. I know Chase feels the same way about making music and I really appreciate him always striving for something greater then the normal mundane job. That's one thing that really attracted me to him. We may never be home owners or have the "American Dream" and that's because we decided that we want to take risks for what we really want to do (which might be a bad decision lol, who knows..) and we might fail terribly, but it's better to try and fail miserably then to always wish you had tried. one of my favorite quotes is one by Steve Jobs...

"Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do."

So go out there, take risks and do what you love. Do something that your great great grandchildren will remember you for (I am saying this to myself as well haha) You are so blessed to be alive in this generation at this very moment. Don't let your life pass you by.

  1. That was a beautiful article by Jon! Definitely inspiring.
Keep sowing...it's like that with my paintings; sometimes incredibly frustrating, but in the end, so worth it. You have a gift, my dear, and so does Chase!
