Bekah Joy

One of my best friends Bekah past away last August. Today her family had a little memorial thing for her at the same park I always went to with her. They had a stone put in under a tree there that said

 "Rebekah Joy King

Now dancing with her heavenly Father

We miss you so much!"

We all wrote messages on balloons and released them in her remembrance. It was hard for me to go through all those feelings again, but it was such a nice thing they did for her.

Books and Bordom

The mister is gone until next Wednesday :( He's playing for a few days at a conference in Denver and then he will be flying out right afterwords to Atlanta to do some recording! I'm excited to hear it! I love hearing his finished projects :) I had an awesome, amazing day, but I'm already missing him and starting to get bored...

...Can't you tell? ha!

I'm going to try to take this time to work on our room (taking me long enough, right?), hopefully get a lot of hrs in at work...and maybe just maybe get some more stuff put on Etsy.

For now I've stayed up way too late reading my book. It's past midnight and I'm planning on going yard selling with the gals tomorrow. I think tomorrow afternoon will be calling for a nap...

As Of Late

There past few weeks haven't been too exciting around here. I'm not a fan of these stages in life where it's pretty much just waiting, probably because I don't have much patience for anything haha.

Chase got offered to hop on a tour for 2 months this summer, which means a lot of things for us.
1. We probably won't be able to move to Dallas as soon as we were planning.
2. We're going to have to somehow buy lots and lots f merch if he needs it to last him 2 months.
3. I need to buy a plain ticket at some point so I can meet up with them for a couple weeks, because I don't think I could go 2 MONTHS without seeing him!
4. I'm going to have to work extra hard this summer if I want to move away at all.
But I'm super excited that Chase has this chance. Touring is one of his favorite things in the world and I' glad he gets to do what he loves. We all need to find that one thing we love and DO IT. I wish I could have as much motivation as him haha.

(sorry for the angst-ish post. I did sandwiches today at work and it gives me a lot of time to think haha)

I am now eating a fruit smoothie and sitting outside with my sister and nephew, enjoying this (finally) warm weather!

Car Shopping

I sold my car on Valentines Day and Chase is finally able to put his car up for sale. This means we're going to be car shopping starting now. I have a few cars I really would love to have.

 

It may not seem very special, but this Volvo is like my dream car. Same color and everything!

 I really love the new Tuaregs. They're still somewhat small and would easily hold Chase's music gear, but I know it will be next to imposable to find something like this in my price range :(

 And if I was REALLY rich... Just kidding! Only in my dreams...

Whatever I end up with will need to withstand traveling back and forth to TX. Hopefully we can find one cheaper then we're expecting and use the extra cash to buy us a good camera... *fingers crossed!*

We Had A Yardsale

Since we don't want to move all of our furniture clear down to TX we decided to sale it all. So a bunch of us had a combined yard sale on Friday and Saturday. Other then the wind (that broke alot of our stuff) on Friday and the unexpected snow on Saturday, it turned out good. We got rid off all our furnature and made money at the same time!

 I'd have to say I enjoy going to yard sales much more then having them, but it was still fun and well worth it :)

Easter Fun

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! Although it was rainy all day here, we still had a really good time. I made lemon cookies (that kinda got over done) and then me and my sister were trying to figure out how to toast coconut and it ended up starting a fire and almost burning down my moms kitchen! haha. But we got it all put out and nothing got ruined, thank God! Then Chase and I went to his parents for lunch and then to my grand parents for desert and an indoor easter egg hunt for the little ones.

I'm so proud of my sister. She has never really sewed, but she recently started and has made tons of amazing stuff!

First I must apologize for the bad pics. All I had was my phone. Secondly I must apologize for the lack of photos. It's more difficult then I thought to remember to take pics every so often. Haha!

So there you go. All in all a pretty good day :)

I am SO excited for Easter. I get to wear my new dress and hang out with all of my wonderful family!

Favorite Listnings

Here's a few of my current favorite musical artists (in no particular order).

I've liked Vampire Weekend for quite sometime now. My sister and friend Kasandra got me in to them and now I'm stuck. I can't think of even one song I don't love of theirs.

Band of Horses is definitely my relaxing band haha! And I love their new CD

Progress In Color is going to be on my list for a long time! They are finally coming out with a full length CD hopefully this year. All their songs are so dang good! Seriously. Check them out!

I wasn't so sure about The Decemberists at first, but they've definitely grown on me <3

I've been in love with As Cities Burn since I heard their very first CD 6 years ago. They are just one of those bands that I can't let go of.

I seriously have hundreds of artists I love listening to, but there's just some of my favorites. I advise you to check out them all! haha

Home Is Where The Heart Is

I think I'm about ready to move... Not that I don't like where I live, I love Colorado and I can't imagine how hard it will be to be away from my mountains, but I've lived in the same place my entire life and I really feel like Chase and I need experience things on our own for a bit. Plus I've never lived even near a big city so Dallas will be interesting and probably a little overwhelming at first. So this summer we're doing some serious money saving. I am so excited to have our own place and actually have all our stuff in one place instead of spread out between like 3 places haha! This will be a good experience for us. I'm just really going to try to enjoy my family and friends this summer. It's going to be a good summer :)

These past few weeks me and my sister have been crazy addictive yardsalers. They are finally starting to pop up more now that it's getting warmer. Here's a few things I've found lately...

Recently Handmade

Here's just a few things I've made as of late:

Skirt I made from some fabric I found (for 25 cents!) at a yardsale

Lampshade I made for my Antique lamp

Rug I was going to give for Christmas, but didn't get it done in time. Instead I decided I liked it and would keep it.

 A little jumper that had some stupid Winnie The Pooh thing on it (don't get me wrong, I live watching Winnie The Pooh, but there's just WAY too much baby stuff with him on it), so I covered it with a pocket for my nephew, but it looked like a dress on him so I embroidered a little heart on it for my niece. ha!

Some decorative pillows for our bed to spruce it up a little. I just used Screen printing paint.
